 Montessori for Under Threes

You don't need to wait until your child is three to start experiencing Montessori with your child.

Wa Ora Montessori School offers a Montessori environment for parents and caregivers with children from birth to three years old.

Our under-three community is a wonderful way to be introduced to  the Montessori way.

Your baby or young child will learn and explore in a Montessori learning environment that will support your child's natural development and foster your young child's independence, confidence and love of learning.

You can attend our playgroup with your child and gain an understanding of the Montessori approach to life and learning and receive support from our parent community.

There are two Montessori environments prepared for infants and children under the age of three:
1. The infant community is for babies and infants from a few months of age until they are walking independently (15-18 months).
2. The toddler community is for children from the time they are walking independently until they are close to three years of age.

Parents and children under three attend one morning with the support of a Montessori co-ordinator. There is a maximum of 12 parents and children per morning.

When the child is ready, from two and a half years onwards, they may transition into our preschool classes. Attendance at the playgroup does not guarantee a place in the preschool, but three years olds who have attended will be preferred enrolments in the 3-6 year preschool classes at Wa Ora Montessori.

Children are not able to stay in the playgroup after their third birthday, except under special circumstances such as waiting to take up a place in the preschool.

Parent-Toddler Community
: Monday and Tuesday.
The environment is set up for the parent-toddler community to meet the needs of children who are walking steadily through to around three years.

Parent-Infant Community: Wednesday.
The environment is set up to meet the needs of babies from a few weeks old through the children starting to walk. In other words - Wednesday is BABY DAY !!

To enrol simply check with the school office if there is a space available on the morning(s) you wish to attend.
